Golf Buggy Enclosures Can Be Your Best Friend On Those Rainy Days

Golf cart enclosures may not be the most attractive items in the world but then they are not designed, as are so many accessories today, to improve either the look or the performance of your golf cart. The purpose of an enclosure quite simply is to protect the inside of your cart, and of course yourself, from the wind and the rain if you get caught out in bad weather.

A golf cart enclosure is a strictly utilitarian, as opposed to cosmetic, item which is designed to be carried with you and clipped quickly onto the cart when bad weather threatens. Its sole purpose is to protect the interior of the cart and its occupants from the worst of the elements and provide a form of ’shelter from the storm’. Enclosures should not be confused with covers which are designed to provide garaging for your cart when it is not in use.

Before doing anything else you should stop and ask yourself whether you really need an enclosure. If you are an infrequent golfer and do not even venture out onto the course unless the sun is shining and there is not a cloud in sight, then you probably do not need this particular accessory at all. Of course, even if you are a fair weather golfer, there is always the chance of being caught out in a sudden downpour so perhaps it could be a good buy.

How often you play is important because obviously the more often you play the more likely you are to find yourself caught out in the rain. Your ability to pick and choose when you play is also an important factor. If you are restricted to playing only a Sunday morning then it is more likely that you will be tempted to venture out even if the weather is not looking too promising, rather than risk missing your only game of the week. However, if you can play whenever you want to then it should be easy enough to simply pick your times to coincide with the sunshine.

Next, try to be realistic about your needs. Golf player come in all shapes and sizes, as well as degrees of fitness and physical ability and you enclosure need to reflect your ability. If your mobility is limited, you may want to consider a lighter cover that is easier to put on or to remove. You may also find it easier to use a design with flap opening doors rather that doors which need to be zipped and unzipped. If the product is easy to use, it is more likely that you will be able to use it properly. Do not be afraid to take your own limitations into account before making your choice.

A final, but all too often overlooked, consideration is whether or not your cart is a standard model. More and more people these days choose to customize their carts but swapping out body parts and adding all manner of accessories. This may make your cart look great but it might also mean that a standard enclosure for your base make and model will not fit your cart snugly, or indeed at all. When this happens you will have to consider having an enclosure tailor-made for your particular cart.

An enclosure is really a must for anyone who spends any reasonable amount of time out on the golf course because you are inevitably going to get caught out in the rain from time to time. Just make sure when you are shopping for an enclosure that it fits your cart and that it is of a design and quality that suits your needs and pocketbook. Remember too that, although they may not be the most beautiful of accessories there are enclosures which really do not look at all bad if you are prepared to hunt around for them.
